Hey guys im new here and i wanted to ask a few questions. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and when i purchased this van i wanted to do as much of my own work as possible. My knowledge and background is in import japanese cars not so much in American vehicles or older ones for that matter. Their is alot of things im unfamiliar with and wanted to see what you think.

The vehicle looks like it sat for quite a few years but ran nicely. Has only 103k on it.
Same owner for over 20 years. But due to the age i didnt realise you weren't supposed to change the transmission fluid so that was a $1500 mistake and is currently being rebuilt. Other than that this is a list of things I've done.

Please tell me if their are any other maintenance things i should complete or common issues they have.

Maintenance I've done so far:

All spark plugs & wires
Distributor cap & rotor
Fuel filter
Air cleaner filter & gaskets (had huge mouse nest)
Pcv valve
Transmission fluid and filter (huge mistake see above)
Serpentine belt
Oil change
4 new ac delco shocks
4 new tires & alignment

TO DO:
oil pressure switch ( not done yet but have part, gauge is not reading but i definitely have oil pressure)

Carbon canister filter (not done yet)

Brake fluid looks extremely dirty but lines are corroded so I'm a bit nervous to change it.

Suspension parts are also worn by functioning okay.

Have not done rear differential fluid...should i?

I know this is a long post so thanks for reading. Any feedback is appretiated. Thanks.

Any codes? With 103 I would just drive it for a while and see. At 117 I went overboard replaced radiator.(had a leak) water pump. Distributor. Entire front end.brake control module.(had abs light) all brakes shocks tires. Last week pressure lines to power steering pump. I replaced my front diff. (That’s a different story) When I drive my van it’s usually longer distance so I’m over cautious. (Don’t want trouble away from home shop). Best wishes and good luck.

Its an 88 so no way to check codes. But no lights are on if that's what you mean. I will be travelling long distance as well that's why i wanted to know what people think.
