That car is sweet, i always wanted one since they were new, but i was in high school then and could only dream. When i got out of college i bought a marauder instead, no regrets, i have 129k on it right now, i drive drive it like i stole it from time to time, and i love the looks i get when i pull up next to a cop or some kid in a ricer at a traffic light.

Mr Bowtie, Nothing wrong with the king of the road: CROWN VIC. That is unless you're riding in the back, going to a bad place.

i miss my 68 impala
Ahhhh, my first wrecked car, a 68 Impala, 307 with a powerglide. Could do about 70 mph in firsts.
Was 19 and t boned another car. Stuffed the passenger side floor in about 6" snapped the tranny lose from the engine, still carry the scar over my left eye. Been wearing my set belt ever sense.
The good ol' days. No wait, that wasn't one of them.

I would never ride in a crown vic, I always asked for the Caprice. :layrubber:

that is a nice nice car, buddy in MI i went to college with has 2, 94 and a 95. that 96 though, i think he would sell both to get that one! and we are correct in this thread, a crown vic is no match for a caprice/impala. i loved my 91 9c1, vs my current 98 p71, but wouldnt trade back.

You can wake a Crown Vic up pretty easily and a '01 and newer has the better heads, cams, and intake. But, the 2V 4.6L is no match for the LT1 stock or modified.

Stock for stock the Marauder and LT1 Caprice/Impalas are pretty evenly matched. Two different animals under the hood, so its hard to say which would be better mod for mod once you start modding them. I do know the Marauders don't really get rolling off the line very good. They need gears and stall to really pack a punch and get close to running low 14 sec quarter mile runs. I would take either one.......I love all big body cars!

Offroad Safari nice Marauder! Congrats!
Now you gotta checkout www.mercurymarauders.com (just don't turn into a Crown Vic hater like most of them over there.... )
