1997 Astro Front Impact Sensor

Backed my wifes Astro up the driveway as we had snow in the forcast, she drove down our driveway (which is quite steep) the following morning without braking to avoid sliding. When she hit the street she bottomed out and both airbags deployed (she was shaken up but otherwise ok). I've replaced both airbags with units from a wrecking yard, but before i put the vehicle back on the road I would like to check the rest of the system out. I know the module is located under the drivers seat, but where is the front impact sensor located??? I have pulled the grill and bumper cover off to no avail. any suggesttions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I believe I found 1 sensor on the rear crossmember by the rear of the drivers side torsion bar but curious if there are others I'm missing.

There is only 1, usually centrally located on the front of the van. Says in the FSM for the 98 that it's on the front frame crossmember. Should be the same for the 97.

Thanks for the response, I've pulled the grill and bumper cover and was unable to locate the sensor there. I have ordered a GM shop manual for the 97 van but unfortuanatley won't get here for another week. Trying to get it back on the road as it's my wifes DD.
No problem. It's the same in the FSM for the 96 and the 98, so I would figure that they wouldn't change it for 97. What color are the wires?
It is pretty much behind the steel bumper. I don't think you will be able to see it from the front very well with the bumper still on. It is between the the bottom of the radiator support and the frame. You can see it mounted in this pic of this van (97 I think?)

Got it(y)(y) It was a bit of a bear to get to but a ratcheting 10 mil did the job. Thanks again for the help.

In testing the sensor there was no resistance. Are they supposed to be open or closed??

Not sure, doesn't really matter though as once activated they are supposed to be replaced 100%
After replacing the Air Bags, the SDM due to a latched code, and the front impact sensor my wifes Astro is back on the road. Thanks to everyone for the help.
