Im new here i wud like all of you to know that my name is Rey...I own a 2000 Chevy Astro Van AWD and Iv'e noticed something strange. When going in reverse, if i turn the wheel all the way right or left, the van hesitates to back up unless i turn the wheels in a little bit more. In addition, when leaving my parking spot, when i turn the wheels all the way to the left, upon moving the van makes a strange thumping sound similar to the one the Jeep Cherokee does. I would like to know if this is normal, or if there could possibly be a problem and how i can fix it.

A lot of them will do that, just because of the AWD parts "binding" up a little bit-it's usually a normal condition.

That being said, just make sure things like your wheel bearings, u-joints, etc are ok. And make sure your tires are evenly worn, because as little as 2/32" difference in tire tread can cause binding.
