Hello
I have a problem that has just been beating me up. I have a 2000 chevy astro van that keeps chewing up starters every couple of weeks. I put a new flywheel new starter and even bypassed the key switch and put a push button start in and still the starter grinds when starting i am totally lost does anyone have any ideas.

Were the starter & flex plate replaced at the same time? What brand parts did you use?

Do you have any shims in there? Do you have the little rod they give you with the starter to check for proper clearance?
