I'm trying to get an experienced answer on the following question.
Is the A/C clutch on the 2003 replaceable?
Local Advance Auto and AutoZone say no and only stock the full compressor.
Dealer said no the last time this happened and replaced the full compressor. Was probably going for warranty money though..
RockAuto.com shows the clutch in stock for 75 bucks.
I found a newsgroup post once indicating it was possible but needed a special tool.
Anyone know for sure?
The clutch is getting noisy and sometimes I have to turn the A/C on and off again to get the clutch to reseat and the noise to stop. Noise is bad when A/C kicks on during accel from stop. During cruise, I can here a clink noise when it turns on. Once it is on and seated it is quiet. Not a compressor noise.
Thanks

Whoops, let me correct one statement above. AutoZone.com now stocks the clutch..

Now I am totally confused. Advance auto does not stock the clutch but recommends the clutch installer and clutch removal tools for my Astro.
