Recently I bought a 20004 4x4 S-10 and after having it a while I went to jack it up to rotate the tires and the jack went through the frame. Drive train runs great so if I can't get my V8 running I may swap the engine, trans and harness and ecm from the truck into my Astro just to have a vehicle on the road come spring. Anyone done a newer engine into older vehicle? what kind of hurdles do I need to be ready for?
Just an idea at this point.

not really I will still work on getting the current engine to run before I attempt such an endeaver. It was just a thought since I paid 2 k for the S-10 and then my jack went through the frame. I still may just fix the truck to use as a yard plow. am looking at my options. I need a vehicle to drive but I also need a plow.

I went out and climbed all under my S-10 and there is only one bad spot which is not as bad as I originally thought. There was a factory oval shaped hole and it rusted around the hole. So I am going to have a piece of steel plate welded over it after I do all the prep work. I only have a mig that runs off 110 so I will have it tig welded by a local shop.
