Bought this little gem for $900. It came with 16" stock rims and tires. I found some 17" Silverado aluminum alloy rims for $100. I upgraded to 17" tires I just put on. Tires are Michelin Defender 80k mile 235 60 -R17".
Van drives, handles and ride's so much better. Speedometer is off maybe 0.5 MPH at most. Thanks to Discount Tire in my area for working with me to figure out the best tire and size that worked best.
This van has 277,000 miles. Def will be putting in a LS in the future.

Congrats on a nice looking van for practically nothing.
I run 17" rims on mine.. I like the way they are proportional to my larger tires.

Nice looking van, you scored.
Thanks. I bought it to use for my home maint business. It was clean had a blown transmission and leaking pinion seal. Had a spare trans in my shop and installed it by myself. Easiest one I’ve ever changed. I’ve been approached numerous times by someone wanting to buy it. A lot of highway miles. As of today 277,000 miles. Only issues is back door seal leak and I’m fighting a troublesome p0446 code. Motor is about shot.

Just so you know.. and Gen 1 V8 will install in these vans like it was made for it.
All the accessories and pulleys from the v6 transfer directly on to the v8.

An LS motor will require a lot more work and modification.

Congrats on doing your own transmission replacement.. made it all well worth it.

I like how they look. It doesn't appear you needed too, but are/was there any issues with rubbing or having to do any trimming? I'm looking for new(er) rims for my '05 , but decent 16" hard to find at a reasonable price. I do see lots of 17" deals though.

I here ya buddy. Only reason I want a V8 is for towing capacity.
I'm getting old so those solo swaps are kind of distant now. My Son is now older to help and learn.

Sorry for the late response. I been out of the loop latetly.
I have no rubbing issues even when I'm turning. I was surprised. My rims are 10" wide.
