what is this thing is it important and should it be pointed towards the top like in this pic. cause mine is pointed downwards and can you reinstall motor and trans together in a 93

this is kinda a confusing picture. what angle is it from and what is being shown in the fore ground? it looks like a transfer case and a cross member

ok one more question my 87 i'm pretty sure it was pointing upwards and my (new) 93 is pointing downwards which way is right also can you reinstall trans and motor together in a 93 astro

The vibration damper's position makes no difference. It will absorb vibrations pointing either up or down.

Yes, you can pull the engine and trans together.

it dosent make a difference as stated. if it up and wears out it will fall to one side. if it is down it will always be down
