im not sure wether they used lock tite on the back plate and bolt
of my 95 astro but there is just no budging it been tryin for 3 days now.
tried to get the pully bracket of the front thinking it is probably holding
the altranator and back bracket ( to the block ) but one of them wont break
and id sure hate to sheer it of and have to have the block drilled out.
any ideas on getting the back off ? my arms and hands are killing me

Sorry, I've not had mine off yet. Someone will likely have an answer before too long though.

well got it out. had to resort to prying the alt up therby bending the crap out of the back bracket.
but allowed me to twist on it till it broke free. trying to get that back bracket to line up was just about
as fun. but what the heck its done. buddy of mine said it happens alot because they use steel bolts w/
alum cased alts and they have a tendancy to meld.
anyway thanks all
