It's called Flat Khaki but it dried much more green than I expected. Josh shot most of it and then I came back and laid a matte coat on it. We were aiming for more tan than olive but it's growing on me. Thanks Zach, it's one of those projects where every small step helps it get a little better

Gutting it was probably a smart idea ;)
Yeah it was pretty rough. Previous owner was a "free spirit" and lived it for a while. She's a nice girl that's getting her life on track and is about to be a momma. I send her regular updates on the progress.
Just black. Figured I'd go rino liner at some point but a semi gloss flat for now to see how we like it. Harder to come back from RINO liner. Now that it's on, Josh is pretty married to the look so we'll probably just stay with that. We chose to leave the front emblems on for texture. Removed all the others and skim filled most of the dings. There's still quite a bit of body work I want to do but it's good for now.
Next on the list is fab a new front bumper, new rear bumper, and a swing away tire carrier.
If I went bed liner, I'd probably sand most of the black off just to get a tougher self etching primer under it. I'm not super thrilled with the primer that's under the black now. It doesn't fail a tape test but it doesn't grab the way I'd like and rock chips are going to be a problem over time
Plasti-dip isn't bad. The key is serious prep and lay it thick with a gun. I had a pieced together junker that I shot in plasti-dip to see how it'd hold up. Kept an eye on it for a couple yrs. Seemed pretty decent for around town and minimum highway cruising. Has a cool texture to it.

Josh learning how to do brakes on the Tahoe before sending him solo to do them on the van. He was shocked how they're all pretty much the same. And at how easy.. (I don't have pics of that - was busy doing other things. In case anyone's curious, I did manage to convince him to shave that mop before going home to his mom)

That's funny... That exact picture has been our target since we first started looking. The raised roof/awd combo took a while to find.

Didn't like how much yellow they had in that paint. I mean, I could see what they were going for but way too much yellow. We were targeting something more like this but went with off the shelf Khaki. Missed it by a mile. Ha
