Yep, you and me both. It's hard to be motivated when it pours 3 times a day and the mosquitoes swarm the time. Getting a great place inside to get to work will make things a lot easier.

New concrete pads poured on the front and rear of the garage - enough to double the size of the building and turn it into an actual shop. Time to get started building!

So I opened up the corresponding wall on the inside to tie it all together. Shocking to no one, it was in terrible shape so ill build some temporary supports to hold the roof up and just replace this entire side of the building.

Yeah, I'll give you one guess.. termites. Every single stick was torn up at least 50%

Got all the stuff out of the garage and tore out all the drywall. Need to do some clean up work to get the debris out and then moving onto phase 2: raise the roof. Raising everything to give me a 9 ft ceiling which will allow me to work on the van inside without looking like a huge building from the outside. 9 ft ceilings seem to be a good compromise.

Had the driveway leveled and graded as well to clear the way for pouring new concrete. Now more dirty sand parking for me!

Finally getting started on the garage to allow me the space to work on the van out of the heat, rain, and mosquitoes. Looking forward to having a comfortable place to work.

The plan is to lift the roof by about 9" which should allow me to pull the subframe out from under the van while inside the shop.

Continuing to make good progress on the new shop. This rear header is to span the old septic tank that the rear of this pad is poured over. There's a ton of 5/8 rebar in the concrete and it's all 6000 psi with fiber reinforcement but still.. I'm doing a central main beam with cathedral ceilings so all of the weight of the roof will come down right on this spot.

Do you guys know what this is? Seems like it's part of the airbag system (because it's bright yellow) but I can't see why or what it's for. Ideas? It's right in the middle of the van above the transfer case.

Btw, there are two of these on the front of the frame as well. I'm thinking of just removing all if them.
