so i have a 5 safari slx and i have no power when going uphill or when im driving on the freeway, it accelerates like crazy but pick up speed very very slow. all gear work just fine when the road is flat.
two days ago, i replaced the freeze plug and when i took it for a test drive, i only had first and second gear, so i ended up replacing both shift solenoid and all the gears came back into play. but no power uphill or on the freeway.
i also replaced the whole distributor, full tune up like three k ago, two days old oil change.
the engine sounds like it wants to kinda die when in gear.
any inputs pls?
im thinking of replacing the tps next.

All the symptoms of a clogged CAT. Pull the front oxygen sensor and see if power/acceleration improves.

Or the catalyst has broken down and blown back into the muffler and clogged it, more or less same thing. A gauge will tell for sure if there is back pressure in the exhaust. Does sound like it, though.
