Got started working on getting the A/C working again on this van I just bought. Blower motor was frozen up and so was the compressor, so I replaced them. Now I noticed that I don't have air blowing out of the dash vents. Where is the valve or motor that directs air to the dash vents? I have vacuum getting to the switch on the dash.
Nevermind....I found another vacuum line off.

theres a vaccum line that runs over the top of the intake, they get hot and dry out and crack, thats where i would start first. when this line breaks, all you have is air coming out of the top of the dash. good luck

It's not the fan motor, there's a odd rectangle shaped relay next to the fuel pump relay. Replace that, should fix this.

I updated my original post before anyone else replied. I found the problem. I had already replaced the vacuum line going over the top of the motor and the dash vents were working a couple of days ago. Then when I worked on the A/C to get it working again, they stopped working. I found the vacuum line going down to the vacuum reservoir had a split in it.Replaced it and everything started working again.

I have a 95 astro with the same problem. I replaced the hoses from the engine to the splitter to the ball thing. I found no difference in the blowers vents. The defrost and floor vents blow cool air but the dash vents barely or has no air movement. Any other hoses I missed? What else to check?
