I just completed swapping my peeling chrome 97 Safari grille to a new 95-05 Astro style grille. I personally like the way the Astro grille looks. I hoped that this would be a bolt on conversion. It is not quite that. The Astro grille mounting holes are identical to the Safari grille, however the turn signals are apparantly not the same between the Astro and Safari even though when mounted they look the same. It requires some grinding on the turn signal housing and the grille to get them to fit properly. After a little work though they fit well. Also as a side note, I have seen a few people like to convert the Astro to a Safari grille and need the metal filler pieces below the turn signals. I saved mine which are in excellent condition besides stone chips in the paint and will give them away FREE to anyone who will pay for shipping.

looks good. i like it as well. does any one have a preferred billet grill insert for a 95 safari. i dont want a phantom grill but just a lil better behind the gmc letters
