Hi I have a 1986 astro allegro motorhome. What I need to know is if you are running A/C at normal and you switch to Max does your astro fan blow stronger. On most cars I am familiar with When you pur it on max that is in fact recirculate which shut off outside air and the fan speed seems to go up. On this model should it do the same.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes the out side air is closed off on max AC and the fan should sound if its going faster. If its not you may have a bad realy out on the fire wall under a little cove on the pass side.

Hi Thanks for responding But could you be more specific on where this relay is. I have confirmed the valve is closing off the fresh air vent but other than that nothing seems to be happening.
Thanks so much

In 86 most had the relay between the heater fan and the ac box under the hood behind a plastic cover held on with two little bolts. Auto zone cost was $23.00 6 months ago. Most in that year the resister was incorperated into that relay if it is not that type the resister pack is on the air distrabution box under the dash. Hope this helps!

Hi all. Thanks for your help Johnny. Once I got a diagram from autozone and a additional post I was able to trace down my
problem with the recirculation or fresh air vent. Someone had added something that had later been removed and was causing the fresh air vent to not function. As you pointed out even the 86 had a circuit the increase fan speed once the a/c was put on Max. You were also right about the location except mine only had one bolt to hold on a rounded cover about 3 inches wide by about 6 inches long. under that on the passenger side in the relay for the blower motor and the other is for the a/c unit.
Mine also had a resistor on top of the evap box but the fan speed was controlled by the relay. I got lucky and got from a junk yard both the relays and the resistor for less than 10 bucks. Anyway thanks for helping.
Thanks
Charles
