My POS Dell N5010 laptop is getting ready to crock, so I'm looking at getting something sorta cheap until I can afford something decent. Is this worth the price. I don't know anything about Lanovos and I will not buy another HP-OS. I used to run AMDs many moons ago, but don't know if there still what they used to be.

Lenovo is IBM renamed so to speak when IBM stopped making them it was sold to Lenovo,, that's the jist of it seems they are now quite proprietary and limit upgrades ,, it all varies with the model ,, it takes a bit if study these days to get the best deal on the best product cause they mix and match in so many variations that you have to know what you want then look for a product that has it
HP OS? Hp does not make Operating System in fact they don't make computers ....Foxconn makes HP computers and many Apple computers .. Foxconn makes most of the computers in the world but are made for other companies , a sure bet that Foxconn makes most of the worlds branded computers , they make some of the parts and buy the stuff like CPU memory hard drive from AMD , Intel , various memory makers hard drive makers and assemble them , a recovery disk that is for HP or any other company is just Windows with extra software licensed for a specific series of HP computers cause MS does not want it's original genuine OS to come on a disc with any computer ,, AMD and Intel are the biggest names in desktop computer CPU
you may want to diagnose what exactly is wrong with your computer as it is very likely you have a corrupted video driver or OS ,, very often it is just a matter of doing a clean install of OS and new video driver install ,, or new version of motherboard chipset drivers , sometimes a worn hard drive is the problem ,, being critically specific about what is happening to the pc is critical in saving money ...used computers is big business simply cause people don't know it is easy to fix their own ....the repair price at a shop drives them to buy new
Dell makes some good stuff , I have heard the 1545 has some problems ,, I have had a 1525 for about 4 years and it still going strong full line of extras
their pro line is very reliable
