I've read the threads about this but I'm still not sure what to get.

So..
What ALDL/ODB reader should I get for my 94 Astro EXT LT ?
And should I get the stand alone reader or the USB cable and plug it into my computer?

I have the same question as the previous poster.
I THINK I need the following?
http://www.amazon.com/Equus-3123-GM-Cod ... B000EVU8C0"

Or:
***removed dead link***
The ODB1 went up to 1995?? then switched over to ODBII ?

I don't really work on my own van, but for $20 it doesn't seem like a bad purchase??

I assume the code reader is easier to use than the paper clip trick that I've read about? (see I'm gettin' educated already :) )

Reading this forum has made me realize that I can BUY a $7 "paper clip"--

I agree with Leeann on this... I use a USB cable and software on my '95, simply because it's an OBD1.5 vehicle,my '87 G body and Suburban would get the code reader if I wasn't too cheap to buy one when I can use a 2 cent paperclip, lol. I use an OBDII reader for the '99, but I need to get the usb cable and scanner software or buy a real scanner. Man I miss working for GM and having access to the Tech2 and GM database.(not to mention the parts discount)
