I was just wondering if there is any aligment can be done on the rear wheels . my left rear tire is wearing down evenly on the inside.

Their are no simple adjustments. What are your alignment readings? Start there.
I dont know what my readings are .looks like i got to take it to a shop. it`s just when I looked under the van i did not see anything that can be adjusted (i could be wrong )
so I thaught I ask here first.

Their are no adjustments per se. But a frame shop, or any good shop should be able to find a bent axle, structural damage, or worn components that could cause what you are seeing with your tire wear. Jim
I had some inside wearing on one of my rear tires last year. Found out I had a broken leaf spring on that side, didnt think it was the reason for the uneven wear, but replaced my springs and no more uneven tire wear.

I`m not sure what the top shackle is . is that the bracket where the leaf would go originally? basically what I did is just disconnect the leaf from original location
and added two pieces of metal to it to gain more distance (lift) .you can actually buy this at advance auto parts ($15). the metal pieces are upside down did not wntad to lift it to the sky like you did :) .altough could have drilled more holes but easier to turn them upside down .the bunch of nuts that you see there are acting as spacers so i would not crush the original bracket. for 15 bucks no spacers in the box. I also have a slight wear on the right side as well .not as bad as the left tough
quick look on my part was correct then the top shackle is where your extension is bolted on. it should have a bolt through the top of it as well. thats where the original spring pivot was located. without having the upper fixed it will be hard to pinpoint the culprit of the spring wear as there are multiple pivots that will work against themselves. usually there would not be a multiple pivot on a street vehicle as it will create unfavorable mannerisms.

grandamle did a budget lift here similar to yours here

Beat me to it!, I guess that's why they call him $uperJoe.
thank you for the help Joe. did read both thread , i do have some rust but have to take a closer look .lucky me the weekend is coming up :D On the second Thread I noticed the the guy have put both pieces on the out side of the shackle mine is not like that (but Im a beginner compared to him.)because if both out side then the distance was greater then the width of the leaf. I will look at it over the weekend and remove them temporarly if I have to. I like the idea of making them fixed , i think I know what youre trying to tell me :) . thanks again

here is a pretty simple way to make the upper fixed. this is how i did it. all you need is a welder and some time and a drill. this is the outside looking in from where the wheel would sit

this is the inside from where the trailer hitch would be. i just welded the factory shackle to the angle iron once it was bolted in

ok I`m back .so I went out at inspected my van . I do have some surface rust pretty much everywhere but not enogh to make damage.all brackets appears to be intact and tight
my leaf springs are straight ,no u shape not even a little bit . what I have noticed on them was that the leaf look like shifted
passenger side

drivers side

also I have put a water level on to the rims and this is what i see
passenger

driver

please not thaat where it is completly out of level that is the side where I have less wear

I have also lifted the van , start it up and put it in reverse .both of the rims were spining straight . that would tell me that the axle is straight right?

so what is it that you guys see and i dont?

I'm no suspension master, but I don't see anything out of norm. The leafs shifting is normal, and I don't think that is extreme, but I'm no expert.
As far as checking the wheels for plumb with the level, your kind of eye balling it there. Try taping a block of wood or something right at the rim lip top and bottom so you've got two good points to rest your level against.
No wait, it looks like both springs are tilted in at the rear shackles. I don't know if that means anything, but I can see it.
I am late to the party, I know. But without having a rigid atachment point at one end of the spring it will shift the rear axle to a greater degree. IE Flop all around. I am afraid your front & rear shackle setup is causing your troubles. Forgive me if this has already been pointed out. Jim

Did cut a piece of 2x4 and got the same reading. I`m going to remove el chepo lift see what happens .

Astroturf besides the cheap lift everything else is original I not sure what you mean by front setup, have not touched those .
do you guys think it is time to replace leaf springs and shuckles .and where to get on a decent price ?

could the entire rear end bent simply becouse of age ?
