Just wanted to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Hawaiian Punch for inviting me to this forum and to the creator and dedicated members who visit and post on this site. I didn't realize there was such a love for these vehicles such as how I learned to love my astro. I originally bought it as a work vehicle for my business but I enjoyed it on my personal time also. I traveled all over with this van and and was amazed how reliable it was as long as you keep it maintained. Thanks.

Hi & welcome!
Where abouts in NYC are you from??
I grew up in Maspeth, Queens. Next to the LIE & just down the road from the Mt Zion Cemetery.

Just wanted to say hello, and I was up in Brooklyn not to long ago playing a show at Libery Heights. We've taken this van all over, up to Boston, Cleveland... :blues:

Not sure if you will be able to see this, but it is a most useless video we put together of our trip up there. Its pretty short 2 1/2 minutes, but it's got the astro in it, and I'm the one driving of course.

Mr Astronomical, I know exactly where Glendale is. I still have family there.
I grew up at 53-147 63rd Street in Maspeth, just across the street from Maurice Park. We had a beautiful view of the Manhattan Skyline & the Kosciousko Bridge from our living-room window.

Incidentally Mr 'Speakers, I thought I caught a glimpse of the Kosciousko Bridge in the beginning of your video??
I know I saw the Delaware Memorial a few times. (I :inlove: BIG bridges)

The Delaware Memorial is def in it, as well as a few others. It's whatever was on the way from VA to there. I have to say the most insane trip I ever did was last fall I drove up to Danbury, CT for a gig. I left around 11am got there at 6pm due to traffic in NY. Hung out, got some food at a local pizza place, played the show at 9pm-12:30pm. Watched another band, then headed back home. I got in the driveway as the sun was rising at 5:30-6am. The NJ turnpike was killer, I don't ever want to do that trip again, but it was quite the experience. Originally we were suppost to head to Boston after that...but..

Hey Mrs. Lady...
I know where that is. I guess your in Rhode Island now?
No, actually I'm not in RI but displaced in the Swamplands of Florida. The cruel hand of fate plucked me out of my wonderful Rhode Island paradise & put me in this fowl & awful place. :tease: I am really homesick for the Northeast.

Mr Speakers, thought I recognized the Delaware Memorial Br.
BTW, the Kosciousko Bridge is on the Brooklyn Queens Expwy (crossing Newtown Creek from Brooklyn into Queens)

Hey Astronomical,

Welcome to the site. I'm actually not too far from you - I'm in Kew Gardens off Metropolitan Ave!!! I'll keep an eye out for your ride and give you a big ol' HONK when I see ya! I just had one of those Headly Bully Airhorns installed on my Astro...
