There isn't enough room in my 95 without a lot of mods for a double DIN. Here's what my single looks like:

But I guess you did say '96 to '04 didn't ya? Oh well.

I wasn't aware you could even fit a double-din head unit in an stock astro dash opening. They are "din-and-half" size like tommckay's photo.

Here's some pics that i got from another post talking about double din
You could also modify the cup holder thing so your stereo components could set lower
I dont have a double din but my case that holds my stereo is about the same size as a DD and i mounted it to my ceiling

I played with the DD idea for my 97. There is just enough room to get it under the heater controls and you'd have to modify the trim panel. I decided against it for 2 reasons 1. The deck would sit nearly tight against the heater controls so it might get kinda hot from lack or air flow 2. Didn't see anything I really liked without going to a DVD player thingy, which I didn't want and they are expensive.

I really like this slide out ones, don't have to relocate any stuff that way.

This guy shows it here which got me thinking about it -

Somewhat skeptical about longevity of the motors, super cold Canada doesn't jive so much with little plastic gears. Anyways, don't have one yet but might.

Nice Van, take care, nice to see a few new dudes around to test the weary...

Take care, drive hard, pull, never push, drink late, rise early, change undies often.... all i'm gonna' say...

Thanks sixsix it works great with a back up camera and navigation. Wish I had moved my heat and ac controls down like Kevin Wells then I would still be able to use my cup holders lol Didn't realize this until I tried to put a cup in there only cans fit now. I didn't find anything out about the lights yet I took the van into the body shop Monday to get a few dents taken care of. When I get it back I will probably take it to a mechanic to see if they can figure it out. What van are you rocking?
