Has anyone got a exhaust sound clip of their van So I can get an idea if its worthwhile getting an exhaust or just a muffler for a cool tone.I want to get a cold air filter set up also.
Is there any horsepower gains from these two small mods?

Thanks
Dan

Well, I'm not sure I would categorize exhaust as a small mod but you would see gains if you did either. Of course, you would get the most out of intake and exhaust mods if you did both. The engine is basic a big air pump. The quicker the air goes in and out, the more efficient the engine is.

Can I assume that you have a 99 safari? Any other work done to it?

Thanks for the you tube links Van sounds great better than my Grand Prix lol
No mods done to my 99 Safari but planning on a few .

I was not planning on doing anything just keeping things stock as I was this year planning on trading my 04 Grand Prix and 99 Safari for a new Gm product but that changed with the uncertainty of Gm.
The trade in value of both vehicles dropped to the point of being worth only the taxes of the new vehicle.

Therefore I've been shopping for basic mods as I'd rather invest a few grand in each vehicle to make them a bit more atttractive and more fun to drive. Wanna Bring back that excitement again.

The new Jarden exhaust installed today. I actually expected it to be louder. I do think It sounds better than the one on my tan 'stro. Might get one for that too. I might have some deals if anybody is looking for them.

To me Jeff's 93 with the 4.3 Z sounds the best out of the video clips, the v-8 vans are just too raspy. I like the mellow sound of a flowmaster 40 series quite well, concidering a flowtech afterburner has the same sound for half the money.... about $45 for a 3" in, dual 2 1/2" out

I dont know anything about flowtech but my 87 had a 40 series single in dual out with 3" round, 18" long tips and the tips did make a difference and was very LOUD. so you might want to get that in mind if you have a sound oridence.

also that muffler on my van in the video is getting replaced with a 40 series single in dual out with tips(not same tips i had on the 87)

Ha ha, I think you meant to do this. Remember, all you need is the part after the "=" between the youtube brackets

Family is up so I actually watched the clip with sound, does that boy have a turbo? I thought I could hear the whining in the background.

it makes sense that you asked that question. the other day, it was really nic out. this new chevy 1500 was next to me on the red. i always take hole shot in winter not racing, i just like to show off my awd...lol. this guy had both his windows rolled down. i got my hole shot, i know he thought about passing me. but as that whine got louder, he backed off. i think he thought the same thing.... i'll go check..... nope no turbo. my a/c pump could be making the noise. or it could be that my steering pump pully could be off a smidge i have no signs of rubbing on the belt. i'm hoping to make it through xmas without having to touch anything greasy. the noise is only cool if it makes more power.
i did try again to post. it doesn't work for me. i am forced to got to utube select, copy, paste from another window. atleast the link works. somewhere i missed something... lol... it will take some time for me to work the bugs out. this litlle canon is a nice unit. on other websites i have to scale down the pics... not looking forward to trying the video.
