I believe it's because their 4x4 transfer case has no clutch pre-load like the AWD vehicles do. Furthermore, with a transfer case neutral option, there is no connection to the transmission, either front or rear.

Lots of other vehicles can be flat towed, it just depends on how the transmission and or transfer case lubrication and drive is set up. It's all just a google search away.

Virtually all RWD vehicles can have a disconnect added as well, AWD vehicles would be more difficult but many of them could add a disconnect as well.

You can add disconnects to a lot of vehicles, but Jeep installed it for you. Easy-peasy.
