I have a 03 astro van. I've had issues pulling trailers for about a year. I've taken to the shop, they removed cat cov and replaced the fuel filter and it improved while driving but while pulling an empty 12 foot trailer up hill, the service lights flashes and misfires. I just did a tune up, plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. Still the same issue. I used break cleaner to check for vacuum leaks, because the air cuts off just before I smell the burning fuel. Im pretty sure its not a vacuum leak as the Hg stays around 17.5 while iddling. I replaced the MAF sensor last year but still not any better. I'm looking for some direction on where to look next as I can't afford to take it back to the shop.

Do you have a cheap OBD2 bluetooth adapter, or some other way of reading live data? Flashing SES light is an active misfire and continuing to drive when that happens can cause engine/exhaust damage.
