Backfire, loss of cruise control and rough idle.

Pretty sure all this is connected to a vacuum leak from the old, cracked and not hooked up hose. So I went in and saw what I saw to get to this theory in my '94 Safari. The disco-ed three way hose was easy to diagnose. However the short hose that also popped off the three way check valve got me stumped. The hose is about 3" so it can't be far off from the air filter location. Dose it connect to the air filter or ???

I need to get a length of rubber hose to correct this job. Also How do I get to the vacuum tank?

The vacuum tank (on my 1998) is bolted (2 bolts) to the bottom edge of the pass side inner fender well, on the engine side (bolts accessed from wheel well).
If you move the radiator overflow/ windshield washer reservoir tank assembly, you should be able to see the ball , down to the left of the heater control valve, and below the A/C evaporator housing.

3 way check valve: larger inner diameter hose feeds from PCV vacuum port. Two smaller diameter hoses go to: 1) vacuum reservoir / canister and 2) to a hose port that runs through the firewall to behind the climate control gauges.

I see the #11 (on the first diagram) similar to my shop manual I got. The short hose #34 goes in to the #35? Mine didn't show that. I'll be looking for the #35. I hope it's there. When I find #35 and plug in the loose hose and it make the ride idle better I'll do a better R/R. I may cheat and move the three way valve closer to the ball since I really don't want to go in to it to do that job "correctly".
