Guess the list of exclusions got so long that they decided to stop giving out the 20% off coupons everywhere.

I assume they are trying to force more people into the 'inside track' club. Oh well, I kinda enjoyed the game while it lasted. Time will tell if it's a smart move for them.

I will never buy at Harbor Freight again, after they charged a $60 restocking fee for an unopened tile saw I returned.

Even worse, I brought it in to the store where it was still sitting a month later! (A buddy saw it there, thinking I was still looking for one).

They've given me the insider price before and returns with no restocking fee. I'll verify tomorrow when I go return a saw myself.
Sucks about the coupons though, I won't join their club being I don't shop there any where near enough to make it worthwhile.

Between Amazon/HD/TSC/eBay I haven't been going there much either. Lots of times I will just go with name brand for a few $ more.
But when you need something cheap and right away where the quality isn't going to matter, they have come in handy.

funny story about them: I had a 1998 Astro I bought for parts after which I found out due to covid pick n pull stopped coming out to where I live. So the only way to get rid of the body was to cut it up and haul it in for scrap. I bought a saw zall from HF and started cutting. It burned up after an hour. So I took it back and got another, after about an hour of cutting with the second one it too burned up. So I went back a 3rd time and got most of it done then guess what? I burned up the third one. Brought it back and got a refund. Got rid of the cut up van body with my truck and engine hoist. After I was all done I bought a new saw zall from Home depot.

Other than cut off wheels and cheap paint brushes, Not much Harbor freight for me. Just for fun I punched coupon into my phone and got the 20 percent. In my past experience it only works for items I wouldn't want.

I buy stuff from them off and on. Recently picked up a hydraulic terminal crimper this past year for wiring the house batteries in my van. well worth it IMO. I belong to another forum where they having an ongoing pass-fail thread for things they sell. Helps weed out out the crap without having to find out for yourself.

Pittsburg impacts sockets/breaker bars, Braun LED work light, drywall lift, predator engines, floor jacks, electric winches...I could go on. Heck even their tool boxes get high marks for most bang for the buck. There's lots of deals if you do your research.

The 20% off coupons were nice, especially if you needed something right away. But most stuff goes on sale on a regular basis and will be equal or more than 20% off.

I buy pretty much anything without a motor/battery there these days - hand tools, anything metal, cheap supplies to restock like threadlock or wire wheels - soooo much cheaper than other places.
Other stuff I buy used or at big box stores mostly.
