Just "touching" the flow fins shouldn't cause any problems, as long as you didn't bend them, which would close off some air flow.
The plastic housing of the electrical unit underneath the air flow section can crack, let moisture in and fail - happened in an old Celebrity we had some years back.
My wife took a 6 hr trip to NH last weekend & our '02 threw this code, but it cleared during the return trip.

You can try lightly tapping that electronic module of the MAF with a screwdriver & note a temporary improvement as you tap it if it's causing poor idling.

Check the electrical connector. It needs to be clean and tight. The code can only be cleared with a scanner. The old "disconnect the battery" trick won't work.
thank you very much,,,
but my van has normal idling,, when i hit the maf with something, nothing happens...
sometimes i had to floor the throttle to get the van just moving,,, especially the engine just started ( cold or hot)
