Pretty much every post I see on adding cruise control talks about doing the steering column swap. My question is: why? Does the non-tilt column not have the proper mounting brackets? I don't mind doing the swap, but I want to see if anyone has ever done it without swapping. I have a 2000 cargo AWD and that's one of the main convenience things I'd like to add.
The only extra thing is the turn signal stalk has the controls and the wiring that goes down the column. Probably easier to swap than try to run wires down there, plus you get the benefit of tilt, probably just a 2 birds 1 stone situation.
