When I try to put my password in the password box the cursor has a tendency to move to the user name box. I'm one of those people who log in every time I use most sites, and log out when I'm done. I don't like leaving my pc vulnerable for anyone who gets on it to be able to go to sites and pretend to be me. So every time I come here it is necessary to enter my user name and password. I have a lot of difficulty entering the password in the password box, because the cursor keeps moving back to the user name box. That does not happen on any other web site I log in to.

Me too. At home with slower internet it almost every time. At work not so much. I think it's to confuse the bots. Maybe will will chime in. I wish it would stop.

If you enter your username then press the tab key does that bring the cursor to the password box?

Yes tab key will get cursor into password box, although I usually use a mouse click to get there. The problem is not getting to the password box. The problem is STAYING in the password box long enough to enter my password. Typically after entering the first three characters of my password the cursor moves back into the user name box.

I have been using the tab key to move from user name to password and I thought that was working better. Not today though. After two or three characters in the password box the cursor moves back into the user name box. I have to try several times to finally get the full password typed in the right box. I am using google chrome. I have not had this problem logging in to any other web site, and I log in and out of several every day.

The problem persists. I have been carefully checking to see whether I am accidentally tapping a key or moving the mouse while in the process of entering my password. I am certain that I am not doing anything like that. My password is ten characters long. Lately it seems that the cursor is moving into the user name box as soon as I have got the sixth or seventh character typed into the password box. So I would like to change my password to something that has only five or six characters. So far I have not figured out how to change it, and I wonder what the allowed password lengths are. Hopefully it does not need to be longer than six characters.

I am using google chrome on a laptop running windows 10. I usually have multiple tabs up with email, news or other web sites in those tabs, but only one window open and nothing else running. Today when I logged in I only got three characters into the password box before the cursor moved back to the user name box.

I have not been able to replicate this issue, I would make sure that everything is up to date, no weird addons/extensions in your browser, maybe try a different one(browser).

Yep, totally sounds like a browser problem, whether it's Chrome itself, or an add-on to Chrome.

I don't have that problem on Safari, FireFox or Opera on my Mac.
