I would like to know if the factory digital gauge cluster is a simple plug and play, or is there a hidden module to run it. Also does it have a tachometer? With the salvage yards full of the cash for clunker program, there's a lot of astro/safaris there in almost pristine condition. I was thinking of swapping my 93 analog for the digital. Any input?

i think there is a thread on this already. but you would need to grab the wiring harness for the digital one and no it does not have a tach and yes it does work spotty unless you resolder the connections.

I just did this with mine, you will need the bezel the goes around the gauges(has the trip buttons) and the harness for the gauges

Took me 30mins, all you have to do is swap harness
