hi folks,
this is my first posting so here goes, i installed my own hitch after being given the run around by those nice people at you-haul. then i went back to get them to do the wireing after two hours they told me there was no plug for them to conect to, after reading the posts on this forum i decided to have a go my self it took me about one hour(it is a four pinned plug) it all works ok but the flashers are very fast, do i need a booster and if so can anyone point me to a wireing plan?

many thanks

You could try using a heavy duty flasher. I've not looked for one in years though. You could also try using LED "bulbs" in place of the incandescents in the trailer. They draw much less current.

Welcome aboard!

Go to AutoZone and get an "electronic" flasher. Those will flash your signals at the same rate regardless of what bulbs you have. A standard flasher (under the drivers dash) determines how fast to flash by how much voltage or wattage it is drawing (or something like that).

hi guys,
thanks for the replies, one of the bulbs had blown before i tested my wireing, i had bought the trailer for work and had no idea what condition the electrics were in until i tried it out today, the lights apear to be sealed units with the name comand electronics followed by 003-5400, i will look it up on line over the weekend, i realy did not want to do the install my self from a safety viewpoint. (looking in my rear view mirror wandering where the trailer has gone),but the fustration with dealing with installers drove me to taking on the job myself.

once again many thanks

Yep, those things are amazing. Flashes the same with all LEDs as with all incandescent lights - regardless of the number of them. Made all the difference on our RV towing the trailer.

with the electronic flasher, be sure to check your bulbs more frequently, 'cause they still make everything appear normal, even with a bulb out. That's the only drawback at all with them though, they're the way to go.
