Kind of window shopping used Edelbrock Pro Flow injection systems on ebay.It would go on my 5.7 V8 for the Ole Yellar swap. The engine will be a roller and we need to open it up to check the bore size so not sure if it is going to end up being used as a 355 or if we will go to the 383 size.Rear end gear will be in the range of 3.70's.Yeah a Ford Econoline van rear end trans-plant.So giving this backround the question I have is what model Edelbrock injection used system should I focus on to get?? and why.I want the best gas mileage I can get and surely as much low end torque as possible.

Let me add that $2,000 and up priced systems is not in the running for a purchase. But still Edelbrock offered tons of different models.

Well I did some research and answered my own question sort of.This is from the Edelbrock forum and for the benefit of all I hope it will be allowed so the members here know if they are thinking of buying what looks like a really good priced ebay unit why it's price has dropped.

The following Pro Flo kit part numbers are no longer available from Edelbrock:

3500
3503
3507
3550
3551
3521
3541
3508
3509
3526
3530
3531

The Magneti Marelli Controller used in these kits has been obsoleted. They have been replaced by Pro Flo2 kits.

The quest continues................... :screaming:

I wanted to correct some inadvertently miss info.Edelbrock does offer a update kit to the older 3500 series system to make it into a Pro Flow II which is a full sequential injection system firing the injectors on time. The kit's number is 35100.Now that is the upside of it.The downside is it costs $1674 or there about. So what that means is you would have to find a used 3500 system really cheap or it's end costs could end up being more than buying a new Pro Flow II.The cool thing about these Pro Flow II systems is the are a 750 cfm, four barrel, hand held controller or lap top tuner controls and are very easy to turbo. Not that is where I would be going, but I know there are some members here that have talked about that from time to time.

I have also looked at the FAST systems and the neat part about them is they have a learned tuning system that the computer learns how to tune your engine based on what the inputs say to do by driving the van.The component parts for the FAST system looks like it would come close to the Edelbrock Pro Flow II costs.I don't think the FAST system would perform as well either.

Well the long and short of it is when a hot rodder really wants something........they usually find a way to get it.

As I find more about Edelbrock systems by talking to them I am passing it along to all of you. This is by no means a criticism of the Edelbrock product line.I have found threw their forum a company that goes way beyond just product support. The amount of info on that forum is right from Edelbrock and is almost overwelling in source and content. All the answers here is direct from them and in this day and age guys and gals that is really rare. The short of it is they are in my opinion first class all the way.

There was two injection systems that isn't built anylonger that looked very much like the stock CPI system that is the only ones that are accepted as being emissions legal.

The Pro Flow systems are not emissions legal. For one thing is it doesn't have a EGR capability.

The EFI 3502 systems that use the old TBI with the injectors removed are not emissions legal either but does have a EGR port.

I am going to contact NYS DMV to find what they want for testing and talk to my local inspection station for the same. Here I know to get a sticker a scanner is hooked up to the data link and that info goes directly to DMV.Before that the inspection station scans a bar code that is on the registration sticker.

Once my swap is settled in,I intend to live 6 months in mid Ohio and 6 months in GA.That is the main reason why I am trying to build a V8 that is universally emissions legal in almost any state.I hope someone on this forum will find this thread useful at some point and save money and time.
