I am looking to rebuild a set of heads and since the heads came with 3 different sized valves in the same casting number, I need to know the easiest way to find out what valves are in a cylinder head in the junkyard. Can't go by casting number, so is there a way I can just measure the bottom of the valve to get an idea? Thanks Mark

Borescope? I bought a cheap one from Harbor Freight years ago, not bad for what it is.

Basically I was looking for the answer as to if I find a set of heads in the junkyard, and they have been built with different valve sizes over the run of them, how can I know whether they are 194's or the next size down. Can I measure the base circle, or is there more to it than that?
