Got my van back this evening. A friend of mine picked it up about a month ago. All I wanted was the headgaskets replaced. But, oh no! He decided to play with the motor a little. I'm glad I got it back but now I have to learn to drive it again. :banana:

He wont tell me what he did. i know he had the tbi unit completely apart one day. Said something about improving the flow rate? He did some work on the heads too. All I know for sure is that it has a lot more power than it did and it's a lot faster now. :banana:

Well I've been driving the van for a week now. It's got a Jekyll/Hyde personality now. If you just want to cruise it is smooth and quiet. If you get into it, the little motor screams. The mileage actually hasn't changed much. Still averaging a little over 19 mpg. So far everything is good.

It wouldnt do 88 before. Probably still wont. So, I dont think I have to worry too much.

Well, around here, if you trust somebody it doesnt matter if they tell you or not! He said it would not hurt the van and I believe him. The van runs better than it ever has and the fuel economy has not suffered. Good enough for me.
