I am trying to find out what kind of nut is used on bottom of my 2004 RWD front shock. One is welded the other is some kind of floating nut that broke when installing a new shock.
I looked into the factory shop manual and all it says iis screw into nut. One shows it fixed the other seams to be removable but no indiction of what type.?

I did finally figure out the front RWD shock nuts on the 2004. End up buying them on Amazon.ca #58458-D / Item 58462 box of 20. I took out the Flanged Hex M8-1.25 bolt and used a thread gauge to figure the size. Then looked inside the lower table shock mounting hole and saw that it was Extruded U Nut 8mm regular type on both bolts. One was cracked and the other still holds but threads are rusty.

The GM one, that is mentioned above ,has a slight variation to the one I found'
The shipping costs to Canada would have been more than getting a box from Amazon.ca for me.
We can buy boat loads from China with free or almost nothing in shipping cost but from USA a minimum $20us and up for everything. Just does not make sense.
