Well guys this has been my families longest run on a vehicle. My parents bought it new in 1990 and they still own it to this day. It is a 1990 Chevy Astro Extened Rear wheel drive. It has the 4.3L throttle body injected V-6. Right now the odometer reads over 208,142 (see pic). The vehicle was just recently lowered 2" in front and 3" in rear. The vehicle and owners are located in West Chester, Ohio which is about 20 miles north of cincinnati. I'll list everything that is new and i'll list the good and bad. I have pics to show following.
New parts just recently installed:
-Spark Plugs and wires- ac delco cr43ts and bosch plug wires
-Duralast Gold battery with new gold terminal bolts
-New water pump
-New fuel pump (go figure, Delphi pump, Screen and fuel filter)
-New front calipers
-New front suspension parts (tie rods inner and outer, adjusting sleeves, idler arms both sides, upper and lower ball joints, sway bar bushings frame and control arm)
-New Belltech spindles for the 2" drop in front, no other lowering components in front
-New wheel bearings, break pads seals done when put spindles on.
-New DJM 3" flip kit in rear.
-Brand new less than 300 miles Blizzak winter tires (awesome in the winter Just had 14" of snow and they took me everwhere needed)
-New shocks front and rear (front gabriel ultras, rear belltech nitros)
The good:
-Front suspension is tight and has no slop in steering
-After suspension install, precision alignment done with hunter sp600 alignment machine
-Since new vehicle has received tune-ups every 2-3 years (plugs, wires, cap, rotor)
-Oil changes done every 3000 with delco filters
-All lights exterior and interior work (note clear corners on front have stocks to go with it, but clears are dot legal)
-Trans shifts fine in and out of every gear.
The bad:
-It sat for about 3 months and not driven but was started first try. Due to this the plugs got fouled out ( I will replace before new owner receives vehicle with cr43ts)
-Leaks oil (timing cover leaks, oil pan i believe leaks, rear main has a slight leak to it)
-Drivers seat shows signs of wear.
-Interior is a mess ( will steam clean before new owner receives )
-Rusted rocker on drivers side ( see pic )
All in all this is a beautiful van for a 1990. I get questions all time like "is that really a 90?" The vehicle has always had service done to it. routine oil changes, tune ups etc. But for now it is time to let this go as I have bought a 98 chevy blazer to drive now. We are asking for offers otherwise headed to the junkyard. Please send offers via pm's or e-mail. My post count is non-existent, but haven't logged in in a while and just realized I had to fill out a new registration as the forum changed. I was around on the old forum asking questions mainly.
