my '95 does that too. the '99 did it until the gauge went completely out, and i relied on the mileage computer for fuel readings, until the pump died and i replaced the pump/sender assembly (pump module).

Both of my Vans the fuel gauges work fine, but I don't trust them past 1/4 of a tank left. :naughty:

My gauge has always worked accurately but a few years ago, the needle started to bounce. When the fuel pump went out I figured the replacement would fix the problem. To my surprise, it did not. I replaced lamps in the instrument panel last weekend and saw that the gauge itself would be relatively easy to replace. Just not sure if it is worth the money and effort to stop the needle from dancing.
