hi all ivgot a 86' astro code z engine th problem is i can start it but wont run long it seems to loose fuel but befor this it had fuel but wouldnt idle unless you pumped the gass pedal i changed the roter cap plugs and leads also the iac valve i think isnt working can you tell how totest the pump a iac valve and how to see if the tbi is working proply ? its drivin me nuts

You could try taking the IAC off and cleaning it and adjusting the pintle which I believe should not stick out more than 1 1/8" from the front of housing . You push the pintle down into the valve and let the spring retract to it's original position.

Have you checked for any vacuum leaks?

thanks for replying i cant find ant vacume leaks and i hav adjusted the valve but i dont think its working could somone tell me if it only moves when its running or dose it workwhen the not running ? as it gets hot but never seems to move wat presher does my fuel pump need to be ok and how do i test also do i test at the tbi end or at pump ? thanks guys
