I looked at a 2003 Town&Country LXI with awd last weekend, made a deal and will pick it up this weekend. Very comfortable van with every luxury option you could think of. Very different from the Astro. I like the high seating in the Astro, in the T&C you sit alot lower. Also the stereo and hvac controls seem to be mounted alot lower than in the Astro making them harder to operate while driving. It is alot harder to back up also. very small, car size side mirrors, and not as good of a veiw out the rear windows for backing. Ride is alot smoother and quieter than the Astro, though. :feedback:

I know lost of people that love them and have a couple friends that currently own them. They don't seem to be able to take as much abuse as our M-Van twins though, but that's a given with its auto based roots.

yes, definitely keeping the astro. It is a great van. thought about getting rid of the astro to get a full size chevy van with awd, but decided it would be too much van. Harder to park/maneuver and would not fit in garage. I will post pics of both astro and t&c later.

Not my style, but they are good Vans. I know my wife would love one, but I not dare spoil her with a car like mini Van.

When I went shopping for an Astro cargo, the lot had a bunch of the Express's. I sat in the ext, and said no way. Drove the standard and it was like driving a full size long box. Nice rig for a contractor, but just to much of it for what I needed. So I went home with what i intended getting and have been happy ever sense, especaily when I've got to parallel park in the city  I've parked in a lot of parking garage's and have only found one that was to low for the Astro.
I had an Intrepid back in 95. Nice car, lota bang for the buck, front brake rotors off a motor cycle, they wouldn't stay true, so I sold it.
Front rotors seems to have been a problem with Chrysler's, so check it out. The 98 Wranglers rotors only lasted 2 years, the after market one's have been on there for 10 years now.
Anyway...

Enjoy the new ride

The Dodge Caravans & Chrysler Town & Country are nice in a car-like way, if that's what you're looking for. I have had a Grand Caravan for about a year now, and it has been ok. I really don't drive it that much, since it is for the wife. She had a '95 LHS (based off of the Intrepid) and the Caravan handles much the same way, except a little taller than a car. It has two rows of captain chairs and a rear bench. I still want an Astro, tho. The only thing I wish the Astro had was a left side sliding door. Compared to my old full size Chevy van, I do like the access to that side the Caravan has, especially with buckling kids in. And I also drop groceries in there as I'm climbing in. But yes, brakes are weak and need replacing often. And towing limits are lower. And FWD. And they look like jelly beans. And it's not a Chevy.

Yes, having FWD is the best! I always considered the Dodge Caravan/T&C as Eggs.

I am ashamed to admit it but I got hooked on the T&C. Nobody is more anti-mopar than yours truly. But when I had my Nissan Quest, I got rear-ended and the other guy's insurance paid for a rental replacement while they were trying to figure out whether to fix or total out the Quest. I really liked the dual sliders, the quiet cabin, the enhanced radio that displayed the name of the song on the dial... yeah, that was a nice van.
