I have a '97 Astro with no power windows, locks etc. Does have A/C (front only). We've had a recurring and mysterious problem in that out of the blue the instrument cluster shuts down, the speedo and cruise stop working and we lose the signal lights. I've learned where to wiggle to get it to come back on but sometimes it won't stay "fixed" for long. Here's the weird part... I plugged in a OBD2 code reader cable, just the cable, and the problem went away! I've left the cable plugged in and zip tied up under the dash and we haven't had any issues since.

I'd like to fix this if I can so I can use the code reader on other vehicles :D

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you

Ian
