Guster Racing is a Brazilian company manufacturing some sexy looking gauges if the Youtube videos I'm looking at are anything to go by. Problem is, Website is entirely in Brazilian. I can't find any English dealers for the product. That being said, here's their site:

http://www.guster.com.br/

Here's a Youtube video featuring someone's idea of a budget version of K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider:

Another look at the MF-70:

One notable thing is that they not only sell digital gauges, but they also have idiot lights as well, something all of the other manufacturers seem to ignore:

Has anyone here bumped into their products?

they look like too much info in one gauge. there are alot of companies that make guages like that. Like the company that made the flat screen gauges for the cars in the newest fast and furious. I myself prefer to have an individual gauge for each component.

Guster does sell individual gauges for speedo, tach, etc., but it's impossible to find where to order them.

I have been looking at some stuff from Nordskog Performance -- the company that did the car in F&F:

I don't like it as much as the stuff from Drift.

It's in Portuguese so you'll have to choose translate from Portuguese to English and then you can read it.
Yeah, I did that for the Web sites, but I could be in a wee spot of trouble if I actually order the product and get a paper instruction book in Portugese. I only do English, French, and a small amount of Japanese.

My fixation on a digital dash goes back to being the owner of a 1989 Corvette. The electronic dash was the ONLY thing I liked about that heap. By 30,000 km the car rattled worse than a 10 year old Hyundai Pony. The transmission kept having issues and needing warranty work. Same with the engine. Worst lemon I've ever had the misfortune to own.

With my Astro, I like everything BUT the dash. If I can get my sexy digital dash back, the Astro will become the last vehicle I'll ever have purchased (unless I buy more Astros).

So that's where I'm coming from.

To answer questions...

1. I really dislike the appearance of the stock digital dash. I find the LCD segment numerical display for speed on its own difficult to read. I need something like the Drift speed gauge:

2. I'm doing a blue HID LED conversion for now -- have about 30 blue and white lamps on their way to me. All dash and cluster lights are going blue to make them less offensive. All internal white filament bulbs lighting the seating and cargo area are being replaced with white LEDs. Or maybe blue. I'll have to try it and see. The new Alpine deck is blue and I'd like for the dash to match.

3. Whatever I do, it has to involve ditching the hockey sticks. YUCK.

The digital dash comes towards the end, after the mechanical and body issues are dealt with. But I'll be researching it like a maniac in the meantime.

Best,

Sean .

okay did you say you have difficulty reading the speed on the digital stock gauge cluster? its a number.
I find the number by itself -- without some sort of LED bar reference to accompany it -- to be difficult to read when quickly scanning the dials. That and I just like the look of all the extra LEDs (what can I say -- Knight Rider was my fave show as a kid).
