I have been looking to lower my 2000 Astro....trying not to spend too much. I found this web site that had a set. it comes with a sway bar for the Rear...thats a plus. I just dont know the brand name. The price is right though. Its a 4" drop. Is that too much to drive around without leaving any parts behind after a speed bump? :swerve:

Thanks for your help.

Hi nielswheels
It really depends on what your using the van for. If your carrying people around, use it as a daily driver and would like to keep some comfort level to it, then I would choose something not so aggressive in drop. One of the old forum members lowered his 2" all around, and the fender flares was right flush with the top of the tires, It looked good and he was happy with it (best of both worlds).

It's up to you on what you decide to do, but you should look at everything it will affect when you drop the suspension that much (4"). You will more than likely need new low profile shocks to accommodate the drop because I'm sure you will bottom out the stock shocks with the 4" drop, you will need to re-align everything as well.

These are only my views nielswheels, I'm not trying to discourage you from it, I'm just trying to give you a picture of the overall affect this will have to your suspension and ride.

I'm sure others will chime in with their comments if they can.:)

Hey y'all,

Look, I did just fine with lowering the van with a DJM 2/3.5" lowering kit - heck, I even added a front Addco sway bar to boot!! BUt when I tried to put a rear sway bar on the back, it seemed that there was NO PLACE for it to bolt up! :screaming:

Any ideas???

Just asking Bob, why doesn`t it fit?
Ground clearance problems? I go to Bag the rear, so any info would be good.
