hello! we just got a 94 chevy astro van & replaced the radiator & oil cooler lines. In the process, my husband can't rembmere which one goes "in" & which one goes "out"....
he is thinking that the top is "in"...
he's at the shop working on this right now & does not have access to internet, so i am typing for him!

quick answers are greatly appreciated!!!

thanks

It doesn't matter. Just route them as naturally as possible with no strain on the hose or the connection. Jim

hi jim
thanks for getting back to me so quick....
but i just want to make sure that it doesn't matter... he said where the oil cooler lines screw into the oil filter,
it says "in" & "out"....
so we just want to make sure that it doesn't matter!

thank you!!!!

The tank on the radiator is just that a tank. It is not directional. Just route the lines naturally. IE stretch them both than connect them where they feel the best (not binding, or stretched). Jim

Welcome aboard!
Jim is very correct, it doesn't matter which direction it flows. If it did, GM would have used 2 different size fittings (like on power steering or AC lines).

Theoretically, you would think the inlet side would go to the bottom side of the radiator. And outlet side would go to the top side of the radiator. Cause if I remember correctly from science class heat rises! But that was a long time ago!

iirc, it doesn't really matter since they just end in a junction block. The longer one goes to the top since they thread around stuff together, then the top one goes up and the bottom one goes right to its fitting.
