Hey everyone, first time poster here.

I have a 2000 Astro Van i am trying to sell for a friend. I put new window motors in, fixed a very bad exhaust leak, new battery, and cleaned it up a little. It has 131,000 miles on it. From driving it a little i notice a hesitation from a stop. Almost bad enough to make it die completely. It seems to be doing this most every time.

I do have a little car knowledge, and i know this is a pretty vague question. No clue how most newer fuel injection systems work. My thoughts are that hopefully a fuel filter can help but i doubt it will be that simple. I'm sure the injectors have never been cleaned. I just hope it's not the early signs of a fuel pump going out. I have very little of my own money to put into this van. I just want to get it into good enough shape to get a reasonable price out of it.

Any thoughts on what it could be? Any inherant fuel system problems on the Astro?

Hi iowabucks

Welcome to the Forum

Replace the fuel filter as you mentioned, and maybe hit the fuel tank with some high octane. It could be just old gas in it, that can cause a hesitation at idle.

When was the last tune-up done? Thanks.:)
