Great post Wimp. Gonna try this out when I do my lift... just picked up a bumper w/ fogs for 45 bucks locally.

I like pop's rubber solution too -- I have a ton of that stuff laying around back home -- so might try and do something with that as well.

Unless you used some really gnarly relocation straps I seriously doubt the bumper would be capable of staying on your rig if you were pulling someone out of the ditch with it.

With that being said, give it a shot and post your results

Just out of curiosity (mainly because I don't have immediate plans to do this mod myself), has anyone thought of or tried using the existing Gen II/III plastic bumper cover inside the top part of the Jeep bumper as a sort of "valance" to bridge the gap above the bumper? Of course, I'm talking about cutting up a "perfectly good" bumper cover but if you're not using it anyway, why not? This may be a great way to make use of a damaged cover as well?
Just a thought....I'd be interested to know what you off-road guys think. Thanks!

I'm not sure how you'd go about attaching the chopped up piece. It could be done but it is probably more trouble than it is worth.

Although, I'm not sure it'd even line up very well with the jeep bumper as the geometry is entirely different.

You just need to bring it in nice and tight then you don't have that gap.
If you do that you'll need the wind deflector below as that'll leave a lot of the subframe exposed.

Nice work low cab. That's clean as f.
