Hey guys i've got a clean 2004 gmc safari 2wd and i want to lower it 2 to 3 inches all the way around on the cheap, and then put wider wheels and tires on it.
I was thinking chopping two coils in the front, but i'm not sure how to go about doing the rear end. Can anyone give me advice on how this is done? I know that 2003 and up have different suspension that the latter years.

I know the 5-lug had drop spindles, not sure about what is available for the 6-lug, so maybe cutting coils would work. As for the rear, most likely have to flip the axle (put it on top of the leafs) and usually have to add lift shackles because the flip puts the axle so close to the underbody. That means new leaf perches would have to be added (welded) to the axle. That's only what I've heard, haven't actually done it or saw it.

Other options would be remove the leafs and add links and airbags. Or maybe a Corvette rear-end.
