this is the case where i live. you have to have some red reflective thing on the rear of the vehicle. its an easy fix if they dont. go get the red buttons that motorcycles hold their license plates on with and good to go. if any cop says that dosent fill code let them know that all city buses and school buses pass code with a reflective sticker strip on them.astrosafari said:the only way they would be illegal is if they had no reflective material in them (as far as i know those light were recalled)
Company in california... Was ordering a body kit that they were closing out for $250 and he offered the lights for $10. I'll be glad to give contact info to anyone who wants it. Send me private message.Where did you get them and do they have anymore?
I guess that it depends on the cop. Had good and bad luck with cops lately. (got shook down for suspected drug smuggling for nearly 2 hours on Valentines night in my Astro this year. Pulled over for a burned out tag light. My Astro was clean and stock and I look conservative as heck - 40s, short hair, no tats, no piercings, well-dressed. Cop saw my concealed carry permit and have to get background check, fingerprinting and anal exam for that. Still he tore my astro interior up hoping to find drugs while I stood on the interstate freezing. Also been let go for speeding while driving sporty cars. You never know!It really depends on your City Ordinance on taillights. I would think if you put the right color bulbs in that any cop would give you a 5 day warning to change them out if they are illegal.
I don't have them in my hands yet, so can't attest to the internal reflectors and such. I do like the unique look and would like to use these lights.the only way they would be illegal is if they had no reflective material in them (as far as i know those light were recalled)
