What are some signs of bad idler arms? I've been having an issue with shimmying when I apply brakes. Had rotors redone, new pads etc. So I read somewhere that idler arms could be an issue. Anyone confirm this?

It only shimmies when you are braking, no other times?

Checking for worn idlers is easy. Just get under the front of your van, grab the centerlink and push up on it and pull down on it. If the idlers are good, you will not see or feel them move. If they are bad, it will be obvious.

my idler arms are shot.....anyone have a set for sale.....dont feel like buying them for $100 a piece. but yeah if there is play there they are gone. just what ^^^^^^ he said

Buy the good Moog ones for $100 and not worry about it. It really is money well spent on these vans. Unless, you are going to do a rack and pinion swap.

The Moog Problem Solver Series is what you need for these vans. The Problem Solvers will have a T at the end of the part number and it will be stamped on the Idler Arm itself (Problem Solver). I haven't looked at them for a few years now, but that's the way they were coded when I did check into them.
