Even if Chevy branded their e-van as the Astro. I'm not sure how much it would share with the 1st and 2nd gen vans in terms of simplicity and maintenance. I want a 90's shit box not a fancy pants electrobile.

The concept art is fun though.

Chevy got my hopes up with the e-crate fake out 2 years ago. I would be cool to be able to bolt an electric motor with hvac and p/s pump right up to the transfer case. The Chevrolet Performance eCrate Is Here to Make Electric Drivetrain Swaps Easier Than Ever

Cheap? No. Practical? Probably also no. Fun to day dream about? yes.

It's OK looking for a new vehicle (the styling bar is pretty low these days IMO,) but I don't want an electric van. An electric car, maybe if my next job is "OTR," but not a van to haul the family--at least not until there are a WHOLE LOT more charging stations.
