Measurements for Grill Guard

I've read that 99-06 chevy 1550/2500 grill guards fit our astros. I am seeing measurements all over for these so I want to make sure I am measuring correct before I pull the trigger on buying. I also see 02-06 Avalanche can work. Here is what I am seeing out there for measurements.

Grill Guards for:
99-02 Silverado, (says it uses long brackets) 42x34.5x8.5
99-06 Silverado 1500LD, 39.37x14.57x14
02-06 Avalanche 46x33x12

Please help! What exactly do I need to measure on my van to get the best fit? I have an '04 Astro.

If it's a full width grill guard you need to measure the overall width.
If not, just measure the grill section in between the headlights.
Take a measuring tape and hold it at the length of the respective guards you listed, center the dimension and see where the ends are on your grill and decide which you like best.

I don't have the guards. I want to buy the correct size (fully covering the lights). Various areas that can be measured. That is why I am asking because I don't want to order something online and then have to pay for shipping it back if it doesn't fit.
measure from outside the headlight to the same on the opposite headlight then from bumper to edge of hood.
Yeah, I get you don't have the guards, but you have the measurements for them.
So going off the first one at 42", roll out your tape measure to 42" then hold the 21" mark in the center of the grill and observe where it comes out to.
Although, I'm guessing they have a radius to them, that may not match the Astro.
They may also wrap around the sides of the headlights, if that's the case, you'll have to do some figuring.

Here are the various measurements I took. These don't even come close to what the Chevy 1500 grill guards are showing online. Please help, need to order this tomorrow.

This is measuring the bumper

This is just taking a tape measure straight across to get outside dimensions

This is starting with the tape measure at the edge of the grill and following it over to the other outside edge of the grill.

Links to the grill guards you're looking at may help...
At least I'd get a better idea of what your looking at trying to fit on there.
Can't picture it with the dimensions you gave in the first post and measurements from your van lol
I just looked back at what I was viewing and it is actually the "package dimensions" and none give the actual dimensions. For example;
Here are a few more;

Yeah, I don't see it not fitting as these trucks are wider than our vans, but how good it will look I have no idea.
Could try shooting JOR an email, they may have some suggestions.

Off the top of my head, I think the only grill guard I've seen on a van here was on an aftermarket/off-road bumper and may have been custom made.
One person on here did a write up and theirs was off an avalanche. Anyone else.outbthere that has done this?

Of all the links I have posted, what would y'all go for?
Here is one example of an install, using supposedly a '90's? 2500 assembly.
No specific bracket information, but an example of how it looks.
This was not a bolt-on, but apparently it was no a very difficult mod to make it fit...a killer deal for $200 used and installed !:D.

Thanks. Yes pretty easy to see what it'll look like but I'm not finding anything specific for anyone that has done this build aside from the 04 avalanche.
The newer trucks have swept upwards headlamps, so the guard also sweeps upward..WHICH YOU DO NOT WANT. Buy one for an older model truck, like 99 or older and it will have a straight rectangular profile that will frame the headlamps properly. The width for any truck in the 90's will be fine. And realize NONE will bolt right up. You need to fab brackets.

Look at photos of 1990's GMC and Chevy trucks. Same style front ends as our vans.
